OmniTouch: Any Surface Can Be Field Touch

Future as we often see in the movies seem closer, a study from Carnegie Mellon University and Microsoft Research has been the creation of more new innovations 'OmniTouch', a wearable system (can be brought anywhere) with a touch screen that can be be anything.

OmniTouch consists of 3 parts namely a camera, a small projector (Pico Projector) and a small computer that can be placed in the pocket though. Uniquely, the projector can reflect images, numbers, letters, or graphics to all types of surfaces, both flat and uneven.
OmniTouch also implement multi-touch technology so that so that it can respond to more than one finger but several fingers at once to click, drag, pinch-to-zoom even writing / drawing. Similar to what is usually done on a multi-touch screen phone.

For a while I use it is to put a device (camera and pico projector) on the shoulder which will make any surface as an area of the touch screen. Currently two teams from Microsoft Research is also currently working to bring two new projects that will be presented at the symposium UI they Uist in 2012.
